No, this doesn't replace therapy. It's just something to hold you over until the next WW meeting or psych appointment or until your AA sponsor calls you back or whatever it is you're really doing to fix your life.You may call this distraction or substitution or something like that, but I prefer to think of it as filling my life with positive stuff in those spaces where I used to try to cram food. (FYI: That didn't work very well.)You may have to get creative somedays. You can adapt. For instance, if you have no dirt of your own you may have to go out and hunt some weeds down and ask if you could pull them. You may not have a whole afternoon to pull weeds. Just one or two will do it. You get the idea.
